Finding good after-school activities for your child in Gdynia is hard enough. Finding them in English - with a teacher who will actually communicate with you - is harder still.

At ArtKwadrat Studio, we run dance classes for children entirely in English. Our studio is on Świętojańska Street - the main pedestrian street in the heart of Gdynia - and we welcome children from international families, expat households, and anyone who simply prefers to learn in English.

This post covers everything you need to know: what we offer, who it is for, how our classes work, and how to book a trial lesson.

Who We Are

ArtKwadrat Studio is a bilingual dance and performing arts school founded by Valeriia Lychko, a professional dance teacher with over ten years of international teaching experience. The studio offers classes for children from age 3 upwards, with small groups and an individual approach to every student.

We are not a large commercial academy. We are a small, personal studio where your child is known by name and the teacher notices when they are having a great day or a hard one. Classes are available in both Polish and English - you choose what works for your family.

Classes Available in English

We offer a wide range of dance classes for kids in Gdynia English, catering to different ages and interests. Here’s a quick overview of what’s available:

  • Ballet (Balet) — from age 3. Classical technique taught in a playful, age-appropriate way. Builds posture, coordination, and discipline without pressure.

  • Jazz Dance — from age 5. Energetic and expressive, great for children who love performing and learning to move freely.

  • Hip-Hop — from age 6. Street style choreography in a fun, high-energy environment. Popular with children who find classical styles too formal.

  • Contemporary Dance — from age 8. Creative movement that combines modern technique with self-expression.

  • Acrobatics — from age 4. Tumbling, flexibility, and gymnastics-based movement. Often a favourite for naturally active children.

  • Breakdance — from age 7. A genuine introduction to breaking — one of the few studios in the Tri-City area offering this for younger children.

  • Yoga for Kids — from age 4. Calm, mindful movement that complements the more energetic styles well.

Why This Matters for Expat Families

Gdynia has a larger international community than most people expect. NATO and naval personnel based at the port, families in the shipping and maritime industry, tech sector workers from the wider Tri-City area, teachers at international schools - there are a lot of foreign families here, and most of them face the same problem: Polish-only activities that leave their children on the sidelines, even when the child is keen to join in.

At ArtKwadrat, the language is not a barrier. Valeriia teaches entirely in English, gives instructions in English, and talks to parents in English. Your child will understand what is happening from the very first lesson - not after three months of guessing and feeling lost.

We also know that expat life means uncertainty. Postings change, contracts end, families move mid-year. We offer flexible enrolment and trial lessons precisely because we understand this. You will not be locked into a full semester on day one.

Ready to Book a Trial?

The easiest way to start is a trial lesson. Your child comes once, meets Valeriia, tries the class, and you both decide if it feels right. No commitment, no paperwork.

To book, just send a WhatsApp message or email with your child's age and the style they're interested in. We'll suggest the right group and find a time that works for you.

Or if you prefer email: artkwadratstudio@gmail.com
